Capesthorne Hall is the much-loved home of the Bromley-Davenport family. Their family and their ancestors, the Wards and the Capesthorne’s, have lived on this site since Domesday times.
Sir William Bromley-Davenport, born in 1935 is the son of politician and landowner Sir Walter Bromley-Davenport and served as Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire from 1990 to 2010. He was appointed a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in the 2010 New Year Honours.
In 1962 Sir William married American Elizabeth Watts in Oldwick, New Jersey. They have two children, Nick and Liberty, and five grandchildren.
Lady Bromley-Davenport was born E.B Watts in 1940 into a family of professional artists. She is American with an international education studying at the Italian Art Academy in Rome.
She has exhibited throughout her life in America, from New York to Palm Beach and in England from London to Manchester.
