Capesthorne Hall is a historic house owned by the Bromley-Davenport family. The Hall is open to the public between April and October each year on Sundays, Mondays and Bank Holidays. In addition, the house is also used for weddings, parties, filming and other corporate events throughout the year.

A number of park events, such as car shows and music festivals take place over the summer. The Lakeside Café is open to the general public on Open Days, and to parties or small company meetings at other times.

Accounts & Payroll Manager

The role is responsible for providing accurate and timely bookkeeping & payroll processes at Capesthorne Hall.

This role is an excellent opportunity to work with a small team of people in a beautiful place set in the Cheshire countryside. The successful candidate does not necessarily need relevant qualifications and can be qualified by experience.

The hours are flexible, but the role should not take more than 15 hours per week.

Main Finance Responsibilities

Process all aspects of running a company using Sage Accounting software, which include:
Sales Ledger
Purchase Ledger
Credit Control
Bank Reconciliation
Credit Card Reconciliation
Banking
Petty Cash
Commission Invoices relating to 3rd party suppliers
Maintaining Cashflow Reporting
Producing Monthly Cashflow and P&L Reports
Quarterly VAT Returns
End of Year Accounts

Main Payroll Responsibilities

Process 4 weekly payroll using Sage Payroll Software
Ensure Staff Time-sheets are completed
Pensions Regulations Duties
P60 Processing
P45 Processing
HMRC Processing
Maintaining Staff Holidays
Salary Payments

Required Skills

Sage Accounting and Payroll Software, MS Office, in particular Word and Excel

Hall Steward

Hall Stewards required to work when the Hall is open to the public on Sundays and Mondays from April until the end of October.
Working for 3.5 to 4 hours on 2 or 3 days a month, the role involves Hall security duties, directing visitors and answering questions on the history of Capesthorne Hall and its contents.
